NYC Foodie Friday – March 2023

Hi friends, welcome back to another edition of my monthly series showcasing all my delicious eats during the month. As you know, one of my favorite parts of living in NYC is the abundance of incredible food, and I’ve been on a mission to try all the best places and share my finds along the way. Disclaimer: these posts will cause hunger 🙂 If you want to stay up to date on all my foodie finds, you can follow my food Instagram here.

NYC Foodie Friday – March 2023

As usual, I went to Dominique Ansel to grab the monthly Cronut flavor of Lemon Curd and Graham Cracker Ganache. Lemon Curd doesn’t sound very appealing, but it was a nice and light lemony flavor. I couldn’t taste any graham cracker because the lemon was dominate, but I still enjoyed this Cronut. It was a good flavor for spring and not bitter. It’s getting hard for me to rate because I’ve had so many, but it’s in the upper middle of the pack for me.

My ordering so far of most to least favorite: Salted Caramel Pretzel, Cherry Jam & Cappuccino Ganache, Lychee Ganache & Mascarpone Ganache, Pumpkin Pie & Brown Sugar Ganache, Blueberry & Sweet Corn, Ube Ganache & Thai Coconut Ganache Cronut, Strawberry & Olive Oil, Lemon Curd & Graham Cracker Ganache ,Early Grey & Okinawa black Sugar, Mango Jam & Milk Chocolate Ganache, Strawberry Poppyseed & Buttermilk, Honey Peach Jam & Graham Cracker Ganache, Almond and Fig, Passionfruit & Vanilla, Peanut Butter & Banana, Caramel Flan & Orange Marmalade, Green Apple Butterscotch, and Black Truffle & Caramel Popcorn Cronut.

Lindens is located inside the Arlo Hotel and we met some friends for brunch here. It’s a very chill spot with some delicious food. The house rolls are a must and I also loved the Honeynut Squash Ravioli. It’s not what I typically order for brunch, but it looked too good to resist. Jon got the Avocado Toast and our friends got the Buttermilk Pancakes and Cheeseburger.

We finally made it into Don Angie and it didn’t disappoint. You can read about the meal and how to get a reservation in this post.

Places I was invited to:

The Cabin released their spring menu and I do not like mushrooms, but their mushroom ravioli was so good! I also loved their Purple Envy cocktail- I think this would fit more as a summer drink because it tasted just like a pina colada.

U Omakase was a hike to get to in Greenpoint Brooklyn but it was outstanding! This was the best omakase I’ve had so far. It deserves its own post, but they didn’t follow a menu so I’m not sure what everything was.

Bosco is a fun spot in the West Village that I attended a food influencer networking event at. I always enjoy meeting other foodies I’ve been following in real life while enjoying delicious food. My favorite was their steak quesadilla but they also have massive taco & tequila platters that are fun!

Jon and I went to Black Tap for St. Patrick’s Day and had their Luck of the Irish CrazyShake® in collaboration with Mariah Carey’s brand Black Irish. It features Black Irish by Mariah Carey and a Guinness vanilla base, homemade Black Irish Buttercream Frosting, Black Irish Caramel Sauce, Black Irish Whipped Cream, and is topped with a homemade Guinness Extra Stout cupcake. I don’t love Guinness so this wasn’t my favorite of their shakes, but it was a fun way to celebrate St. Patty’s Day!

Happy Boards is an on-demand charcuterie board company local to NYC. You can have one of their boards delivered within about 45 minutes. This would be great if you’re hosting friends or have any last-minute needs. Jon and I enjoyed it for dinner one night while we watched March Madness.

I think I’m still full from our dinner at Hummus Kitchen. This restaurant has a few locations around NYC and is popular for good reason. We started with the chickpea hummus, Eggplant Carpaccio, Fiance Ares (lamb bites), and Cauliflower. For entrees I chose the Beef Kebob and Jon went with the Chicken Shawarma. We were stuffed by this point, but they sent us the Baklava, Muhallebi, and Knafeh.

What caught your eye this month?
